Why Props are Great
The number one reason that most people love to use props is that they give people something to do with their bodies. In a very real way, props can lessen the awkwardness in a photo.
When guests are having fun with props, we always capture some great expressions. People tend to relax, thinking less about the camera and more about having a good time.
Props are very inviting. A selection of fun masks, scarves, clothes, or other items can really draw people in. Maybe a shy person drifts over, casually thinking, “What are all these things?” A few moments later, they often grin and relent, “Well, alright… I guess I’ll just take one photo!” Props definitely give reserved guests an “excuse” to have a photo taken.
Why You may want to Go Without Props
Some guests have a hard time letting go, and our fun props appear in every photo, often obscuring faces. Some clients have a strong desire to capture photos of their guests’ faces and think that props may not be a great idea. Keep in mind, though, our prop selection can be tailored to your needs, so if you want props that don’t obstruct the face, we can make that happen for you – no problem.
